Instax Mini 9

What is this camera?

Many of you have probably known or have this camera, but I can’t just NOT talk about it. If you’re looking for a camera that is self-developing and you have a Polaroid aesthetic, this camera is for you! For me, Instax Mini 9 is for aesthetic purposes. Since it’s developing, the moment is captured right there and then.

Polaroids are iconic in my opinion. However, this camera isn’t all pros. There’s also some things about it that isn’t ideal like for people who really wants digital copies of the pictures taken. You also have to spend more money to buy the film required for the camera to develop the pictures.

Even so, the pros about this camera makes it worth it to buy. For one, it’s $70CAD and I think that’s a good enough price to really take aesthetic photos. It’s like a filtered picture already! Another reason that it’s great is that you can adjust the brightness of what comes out of your camera with a simple twisting on the front of the camera. You can also take a selfie with it since there’s a mirror in front of the camera itself, which is a pretty cool bonus.

Over all, I’d give this a 3.6/5 simply because it’s convenient for aesthetics and instantaneous picture development. It is also a cute way to record memories and inexpensive!

For this camera, you can actually find this in a couple of stores, which is super convenient so people don’t have trouble getting themselves an Instax Mini 9.

The stores/sites you can get this from are:

  • Walmart
  • Amazon
  • Best Buy
  • Chapters – Indigo
  • Staples
  • The Source
  • Toys R Us
  • London Drugs
  • Lozeau

  1. I, like so many others, own this camera. I was so excited for it and I do enjoy it. However, lately I feel as though the mini produces too small of photos. I think I will give this away and get another polaroid that has the full square photos. I agree the film can be so outrageous! The cheapest I have found was on Amazon in bulk. I think each photo came out to about $.75 each? Thanks for the post!

  2. You’re welcome! And YES actually. The films you buy separately can get expensive quickly if you only use Polaroid as your main camera. Thank you so much for giving us your input about this. I also think Amazon can have really good deals for the film refills.
